Cheapest ariline from London to Houston IAH?
I frequently fly from London Gatwick to Houston TX. I usually go with BA. I'm taking my boyfriend over this summer to meet my Dad, but he's being really funny about the expense. Can anyone reccommend best airlines or websites or even how far in advance we should leave it before booking to get the best price?
The answer is Continental Airlines. Due to having their major hub here they have the cheapest rates. The only way another airline would be cheaper would be if Continental's flights were already booked with the cheapest fare classes having been purchased. Basically, book early if you can and give Continental a call (1-800-525-0280) to have them start scouring availability for you. I know they are bound by company regulations to seek out the lowest available. Plus, it's a top-notch airline. They pride themselves on the many luxuries they provide guests that other airlines have done away with for cost-savings. Trust me, you'll learn that when you have one of their meals from LGW to IAH. I've flown it numerous times and the food and service are almost worth the price of the ticekt alone. Happy fare-hunting and have a great time in Houston whenever you get here!

Continental worked out best several times I've done the trip.

I just checked Expedia.com and did the following, since I wasn't too sure about your departure.
Flight from Gatwick (LGW) to Bush Intercontinental (IAH).
I used the month of May (doesn't matter as long as it is far enough in advance).
I had you staying for seven days, and flying out and returning mid-week.
Here's what I saw:
Continental has several flights starting at $777.
BA has nothing scheduled that day (Wednesday).
If I moved it to Friday, coming back a week later:
Here's what I saw:
Continental has a five flights on Friday, with the fare starting at $836.
BA has one flight, starting at $960.
Two of the Continental flights are non-stop, as is the one BA flight.
My advice, Continental. Leave mid-week and stay at least through the weekend. You'll save $$ this way.

http://www.airgorilla.com has fares of about $660 + tax to IAH from both LGW and LHR on several airlines, including BA. Travel mid-week and stay for at least 7 days (ex. departing London on May 16th and returning on May 23rd, which are Wednesdays).
However, chcek the price WITH the taxes - for example, the $660 fare on Continental is about $810 after the taxes are added. It is more on BA (don't know why).
