looking for cheapest flights from houston (hobby airport) to detroit metro airport approx 12/23-1/1/2010?

Cheapest I can find is about $300 round trip, I always hear about real cheap flights like $79 or so but don’t know how to find anything like that. I checked hotwire and expedia and a few others like these. Thanks for any suggestions to help find anything cheaper, I think $300 is kind of cheap but it seems like anymore you can find some for cheaper.

If you can pay $300 round trip, I would book it immediately. The price will only go up. The cheap flights for $79 each way are during non-peak travel seasons. Flying during Christmas time is the most expensive time of the year since airlines know lots of people will pay a high price because they want to go be with family during the holidays.

  4. those sites like priceline are unreliable. ive heard of many cases where people have gotten rejected at the airport due to a false plane ticket. you need a ticket straight from the airline like continental or southwest. southwest has tickets at just $99 there and $99 coming back. that is using the new "wanna get away" feature. continental is by far the best airline and most reliable i know about. if flying during the week, then you can get tickets there and back at just $290. just be careful using continental! they have a tracking device in their website. like when you have been checking on certain flights over and over again. they will mark up the prices because they know your interested in that flight. so when you go to book, use a separate computer to see how the prices differ.

  6. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it’s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online… otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
