Are my layovers long enough?

This round trip will be my first time flying since I was much younger. My first one is 40 minutes in Denver and I have to get from one end to the other of the very long terminal B, United to Express jet. I understand that 40 minutes is w/o taxiing. So is this long enough to make my way to the new gate, assuming the flight is on time?

On my return flight I have to get from Terminal C to B at Houston Intercontinental Airport, it’s Continental to Express Jet. From their map I’ve gathered they have some sort of In Security transportation between terminals but this time I only have 35 minutes. Again, will this be enough time?

I called Orbitz to see if this was long enough and when they called Continental they assured us that the flights were connecting flights which I assume means I’m guaranteed to make it or else they’ll have to find me the next available flight. Still I was just wondering what those with personal experience say, because even the Orbitz guy said that was cutting it short.
I looked at DEN on google maps and wow, it’s 3/5 of a mile to get from one end to the other of Terminal B to the other. That’s gotta be a 10 minute walk. Do people really run, will I be stopped if I do?

Assuming that your arrival flight is on time, yes you will have time. It doesn’t take too long to walk from terminal to terminal.

Yes IAH has a train. You should also note the walking times on that map.

Renting apartments in Houston, TX?

Abby at Briar Forest
Park Green
Crossing at Willow Bend
The Worthington Hawthorne
The Hawthorne

Would you give me your opinions on any of these Please. Good or bad, which are worth it, and what ones to avoid like the plague. They all have affordable prices, good locations, close to shopping, schools, the airport and public transportation. I just don’t want to find myself slap in the middle of "crack whore central"..

We plan on moving the end of this year. Thanks for your input!

I live kinda in the area of Abby at Briar Forest (I live on Eldridge and Briar Forest, like 2 streets over)
The neighborhood is certainly not crack whore central, but I mean…..it is Houston. The general neighborhood is nice (I am speaking of like a 15 mile radius around my apartment. From Hwy 6 to the Sam Houston Tollway, from I-10 to Westheimer) You have a mall, several shopping centers, a couple of grocery stores, movie theaters, and like 32 Walgreens.
Sorry I can’t really tell you specifically about the apartments, but if you’re not from around here, it is a fairly decent place to be. Not scary or dangerous or anything……so far. (I’ve only lived in the area for like 4 months)

Houston Hobby Airport Parking?

Wondering if anyone has ever used off site parking AviStar near Hobby Airport. The cost is cheaper than leaving your car at HOU for the week and I believe they do provide free shuttle transportation to and from the airport.

I just don’t know what to do, we have 6 people flying out of Hobby and just looking for feedback or suggestions…

Thanks for the help.

Check out AviStar (formerly FASTTRACK) on Airport Blvd. If you’re parking for a week, it would cost you about $37 compared to $56 at HOU’s Economy parking lot. Please see my source BestParking.com for more parking options near Hobby Airport.

Has anyone arrived to Bush Airport in Houston on an international flight?

If so, could you please let me know what to do on arrival. If I am continuing on the same airline that I used to arrive in the US to travel inside the US, are my bags transferred for me, or do I collect them after going through immigration? If I collect the bags, is the baggage area near customs, and do I re-check them? Also is inside or outside transportation provided to change terminals? Thanks so much.

You go through customs at your point of entry.

http://www.immihelp.com/travel/arrival-usa-baggage-claim-customs.html

Then you probably have to go to one of the domestic terminals and recheck your baggage. An example, most international Continental airlines flights land at the international terminal. But the Continental domestic flights arrive at another terminal. So you would have to change terminals anyone.

There are often sky caps available that can get your bags to the new terminal. Look for these guys.

Airline Pilot to TSA ‘No Groping Me and No Naked Photos!’ DNA Damage, = Cancer

2 Airline Pilot to TSA No Groping Me and No Naked Photos! DNA Damage, = CancerDaily News @ http://RevolutionNews.US ~ Pilot Refuses Full-Body Scan, Pat Down at Tenn. Airport, Calls TSA a “Make-Work” Program.

SCANNERS DAMAGE DNA:

It’s true: Airport body scanners could give you cancer…

http://www.naturalnews.com/030079_air…

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (CBS/AP) Michael Roberts, a commercial airline pilot, may lose his job after he refused a pat down and full body scan, because he says he’s tired of being manhandled by security agents.

The ExpressJet Airlines first officer was chosen for the X-ray scan Friday at Memphis International Airport. The Houston-based pilot says after refusing the full body scan, he refused a pat-down and then went home.

Roberts had gone to the airport to board a flight to Houston. He was then scheduled to fly out of that city.

“I’m not trying to throw down the gauntlet with the federal government per se,” Roberts told The Commercial Appeal.

Roberts said Friday was the first time he has used the security checkpoint since new full-body scanning equipment was installed. He said he has gone through security at the Memphis airport without incident routinely for more than four years.

The 35-year-old Memphis pilot told the l newspaper he wants to go to work and not be “harassed or molested without cause.”

Transportation Safety Administration spokesman Jon Allen says a person was turned away after refusing to follow federal security procedures but declined to say if it was Roberts, citing privacy considerations.

Roberts said tight security is important to protect air travelers, but he doesn’t believe TSA efforts are effective.

“I have those concerns as well, but I don’t believe this approach is a necessary or effective way to mitigate the threat,” Roberts said.

He also called the TSA a “make-work” program.

TSA Molests 3 Year Old Child at Chattanooga Metro Airport

2 TSA Molests 3 Year Old Child at Chattanooga Metro AirportAhh, for the days of “Papers please!” The TSA is being operated as if it is a rogue agency beyond the accountability of the people. Various “authorities”, “officials”, and “experts” have decided that your body, your most personal space, is now the business of the state. This is an outrage of unprecedented proportion, and our willingness to put up with these intrusions will shape the way our government interacts with us in the future.

Sadly, the KIAH reporter Steve Simon apologetically addresses the situation that led to the open palm frisking of his three year old: “There has to be some sacrifice..when it comes to security at the airport”, as the anchors chuckle at the ordeal. This is no laughing matter- it is about our dignity as human beings. As these horror stories filter into the news, the Transportation Security Administration continues to lie about their procedures of enhanced patdown, the nature of the full naked body scanners, their safety, and the ability to see passengers genitals and save their images.

TSA is a disgrace, and they must be disbanded! The country is going bankrupt, and if we want to cut spending, cancel all orders of the full body scanners!
