George Bush Airport Houston

IAH Houston

October 2, 2009

Why is it STILL so darn HOT In October in Houston, TX? This is stupid.?

I know this is TX & Houston weather in very unpredictable. BUT
What happened to the "Front" were supposed to get that was going to cool down in low 60’s ? What happened?

NO rudeness. I just think is TRIPLE BS I have to run a freaking A/C in OCTOBER! It should be about 65 not 105 5. Last summer I came from Lake Tahoe after working there from May to Oct. 15 & when I stepped out of Bush IAH into the fall evening it was humid but STILL cooler. I want cooler weather NOW. I want to wear PANTS not shorts @ Christmas. It’s SO unfair. It’s FALL & I want to do FALL things outside but NOOOOO.. I am from Amarillo (DRY AIR).. so I am no stranger to crappy weather & but it’s only 77 there right now. .I want it to get cool, but not cold. I’ll check Click2Houston.com but is this pissing any 1 else off?
I’m FROM TX but I am from the panhandle! I am not new to unpredictable weather. This is an El NINO year & last time it was cold winter.
I have lived in TX all 24 years of my life & 12 in Houston. I remember 20’s & 30’s & a few flakes & sleet during the freakin’ winter but i guess that’s a rarity?
I’d be HAPPY to take a vaction. E mail me & I will tell you where to book the reservations & everything else!

I’m grateful it’s been cloudy for the past 2 weeks.

  1. It usually does not change until mid october and early november in Texas. yea we have a short lived winter and what we do get is usually very mild . Not like vermont or other northern states. And yes the air is what is causing all of us to remain sick with the flu , colds , allergies or whatever the heck it really is . We have a high count of mold and ragweed due to the temps here.

  2. You must be new to TX. Expect to use the a/c til about Thanksgiving. If you have a winter coat, you will use it for 1-2 weeks (at most). You will notice that most Houstonians do not have a winter coat (using layers of sweatshirts instead) or their coat is very old and the sleeves very short (from when they first moved to TX).

You are living in a semi-tropical area. What can I say?

  3. I agree with texasgirl, besides living in SOUTH texas you should know that the weather doesn’t usually change til later in the year. If you can’t stand it that much take a vacation, if you can.
