How is the Fall Creek area of Houston (Humble) Texas?

How is the Fall Creek area of Houston (Humble) Texas?

I’m looking to move there with my family (2 kids and wife). I like what I see plus I’ll be working at Bush Airport IAH. I’m thinking about either Fall Creek or Atascocita or Eagle Springs.

Can anyone give their opinions on these neighborhoods?

Thanks!

Atascocita is known for being especially vulnerable to flooding. I wouldn’t live there, myself. Equally as bad is that primary roads leading to the area will be underwater before many other roads are. Several years ago we had gully-washing rains, don’t remember the incident but was either a week of steady of rain or a hurricane or other named storm. FM 1960 was underwater in that area but not where I am—just off 1960 and Kuykendahl. I’d vote for Humble any day.

You might check with the area (gov.) flood folks for more concrete information but I’ve seen the mess and know that the only folks making light of it are probably trying to sell their homes.

  2. Fall Creek is a great place to live! Your commute will be very short if you work at IAH! Fall Creek also has many fun events for the kids! To name a few: Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July Parade, Fall Festival, and Snow Day! It is a great place to raise your kids!
