Are my layovers long enough?

This round trip will be my first time flying since I was much younger. My first one is 40 minutes in Denver and I have to get from one end to the other of the very long terminal B, United to Express jet. I understand that 40 minutes is w/o taxiing. So is this long enough to make my way to the new gate, assuming the flight is on time?

On my return flight I have to get from Terminal C to B at Houston Intercontinental Airport, it’s Continental to Express Jet. From their map I’ve gathered they have some sort of In Security transportation between terminals but this time I only have 35 minutes. Again, will this be enough time?

I called Orbitz to see if this was long enough and when they called Continental they assured us that the flights were connecting flights which I assume means I’m guaranteed to make it or else they’ll have to find me the next available flight. Still I was just wondering what those with personal experience say, because even the Orbitz guy said that was cutting it short.
I looked at DEN on google maps and wow, it’s 3/5 of a mile to get from one end to the other of Terminal B to the other. That’s gotta be a 10 minute walk. Do people really run, will I be stopped if I do?

Assuming that your arrival flight is on time, yes you will have time. It doesn’t take too long to walk from terminal to terminal.

Yes IAH has a train. You should also note the walking times on that map.

Renting apartments in Houston, TX?

Abby at Briar Forest
Park Green
Crossing at Willow Bend
The Worthington Hawthorne
The Hawthorne

Would you give me your opinions on any of these Please. Good or bad, which are worth it, and what ones to avoid like the plague. They all have affordable prices, good locations, close to shopping, schools, the airport and public transportation. I just don’t want to find myself slap in the middle of "crack whore central"..

We plan on moving the end of this year. Thanks for your input!

I live kinda in the area of Abby at Briar Forest (I live on Eldridge and Briar Forest, like 2 streets over)
The neighborhood is certainly not crack whore central, but I mean…..it is Houston. The general neighborhood is nice (I am speaking of like a 15 mile radius around my apartment. From Hwy 6 to the Sam Houston Tollway, from I-10 to Westheimer) You have a mall, several shopping centers, a couple of grocery stores, movie theaters, and like 32 Walgreens.
Sorry I can’t really tell you specifically about the apartments, but if you’re not from around here, it is a fairly decent place to be. Not scary or dangerous or anything……so far. (I’ve only lived in the area for like 4 months)

Houston Hobby Airport Parking?

Wondering if anyone has ever used off site parking AviStar near Hobby Airport. The cost is cheaper than leaving your car at HOU for the week and I believe they do provide free shuttle transportation to and from the airport.

I just don’t know what to do, we have 6 people flying out of Hobby and just looking for feedback or suggestions…

Thanks for the help.

Check out AviStar (formerly FASTTRACK) on Airport Blvd. If you’re parking for a week, it would cost you about $37 compared to $56 at HOU’s Economy parking lot. Please see my source BestParking.com for more parking options near Hobby Airport.

Can I catch my connecting flight in Houston, TX on time?

I’m catching an 11.35am flight from Miami, FL to Los Angeles, CA. The flight stops at Houston, TX at 1.16pm and I have to catch the connecting flight at 2.15pm the same day. Will I make it through the security and stuff in time to catch my second flight? If so, will I have time to hang around the airport or will I be rushing?
Thanks everyone for your answers!
I’m sure they will all help!

When you land you will already be in the airport so you will not be going through security. Even if you have to change terminals you will have plenty of time to get from one gate to another.

Things to do around Houston Airport? (IAH– George Bush Intercontinental)?

Three of us have about 5 hours and 30 minutes of a layover in Houston on Sunday the 8th of January. Is there any sort of fun/interesting activity we could do in Houston that would take about 3 hours? We don’t want to sit around the airport and I am familiar enough with its layout to not get lost.

Does anyone have any good suggestions? We will be there from 12 PM till 5.30 PM, if that helps.

Thanks!

Head north to The Woodlands. Exit on the flyover for Woodlands Parkway. First right onto Woodloch Forest Dr.
First left on Timberloch
Parell park in that block on the next. Walk north along Water Way Ave towards the mall. Cross the waterway. There are lots of fun restaurants and places to see. Go down the stairs or elevator and walk along the waterway. Visit the fountains at Waterway Square.

When bored, head further down Timberloch Pl or Lake Robbins Dr. to Market Street. Lots of fun places there as well.

Has anyone arrived to Bush Airport in Houston on an international flight?

If so, could you please let me know what to do on arrival. If I am continuing on the same airline that I used to arrive in the US to travel inside the US, are my bags transferred for me, or do I collect them after going through immigration? If I collect the bags, is the baggage area near customs, and do I re-check them? Also is inside or outside transportation provided to change terminals? Thanks so much.

You go through customs at your point of entry.

http://www.immihelp.com/travel/arrival-usa-baggage-claim-customs.html

Then you probably have to go to one of the domestic terminals and recheck your baggage. An example, most international Continental airlines flights land at the international terminal. But the Continental domestic flights arrive at another terminal. So you would have to change terminals anyone.

There are often sky caps available that can get your bags to the new terminal. Look for these guys.

when will aberdeen airport start getting long haul flights?

why is there not an aberdeen houston flight yet?
ive heard a new aberdeen baku flight is starting is this the beginning of new destinations for the airport??
currently there are only flights to london, manchester, birmingham, paris, amsterdam and stavanger with a few charters to spain

They need an extended runway for long-haul flights. The runway can only really take planes up to a 737 size. Anything larger for long haul can’t take off or land safely.

There is a plan for an extended runway, but that will take years, if it happens.
