Sound confusing, let me attribute more details here. I’m scheduled to fly from SIN to VPS via NRT (Tokyo) and IAH (Houston). With 2 immediate International Connecting Flights and 1 immediate Domestic Connecting Flight I’m interested to buy Duty Free upon arrival. However, I’m very sceptical with the informations provided by friends pertain to Rules of Purchasing Duty Free items on several connecting flights.
Which Connecting Airport can I make my Duty Free Purchase?
Please also assist me with the most reliable website providing information about Custom Guidelines of what which kind of foods that I may carry along with me upon arriving (from Singapore (SIN) & Tokyo (NRT), Japan) to IAH George Bush Intercontinental Airport?
Thanks
Hi,
Try the website I’m including in sources, that should be updated information. The government office with whom to ask any info on personal exemptions when traveling back from oversees is always CBP. Do not fail to declare to the CBP (Customs Border Protection) Officer if in doubt, they will seize your goods if you don’t declare something you should have and may also fine you.
I have not been to IAH for years and have a question about arrivals. I have to pick my husband up tomorrow at 3:00pm. My questions are the following…
1. It takes me an hour to get there, when should I leave
2. Where can I park to meet him, parking deck or is there an area by the exit doors.
3. how much are the parking decks for hourly parking
thank you very much.
Check the flight status before leaving home. This can be done on your computer. You’ll need the airline name and flight number.
I would leave about 60 - 65 minutes before his flight is scheduled to arrive. You will look for the terminal first. Then you’ll watch for "Arriving Flights" signs. Pull in and move forward (or as directed by the security). Do not block the driveway. Pull over by the curb, even if you see your husband.
You will not get out of your car. This is NOT a parking area where you can run inside and meet someone. He will come out and find your car. Hopefully you have cell phones and he can tell you when he’s headed outside.
(If you get there and find the flight has been delayed, you can always go to the cell phone lot and wait until he calls.)
But paying to go into the parking garage is not worth the money.
I need to relocate to Houston for my new job near the IAH airport. There are so many apartments on line, but I have no idea which one is better. Can anyone refer me to any good apartments please?
I do find an apartment names "champion woods". Dose anybody know it before? is it safe for a single girl? Thank you.
Try to find something 5 to 15 minutes north of the airport. Kingwood is very nice and close to the mall, restraunts, bars, movies ect. just north New Caney is quiet and safe as well. south of the airport north east houston has issues, so does many parts of Humble. I would really want to live in Kingwood if I worked near the airport.
I need some help ….
Im leaving calgary to go to new orleans and im stopping in houston for transferring flights.
I’m a first time flyer, so I’m a tad nervous. I only have about 40 mins until my flight leaves for New Orleans. I will need to get from Terminal C to terminal B in that time frame..
Can anyone who has been there tell me whats the best way and if i will need to check in tosecurityy first?
Bottom line….Will i make it in time >.<
I only have my carry on bag
As long as you stay on the airside of the terminal (don’t leave the airport) you should be fine. If you are arriving on a flight and departing on a connecting flight even though it’s in a different terminal, no you will not need to go back through security. 40 min is a reasonable amount of time to make a connection. You should be fine.
They don’t @ the Houston airport.

Designated smoking areas, 25 feet away from the entrance of terminal buildings
Smoking is not permitted within George Bush airport.
I am flying from bjx(Leon) to iah(Houston) to clt(Charlotte) and I’m worried on the iah-clt flight is that enough time since I have to go through immigration and everything else it’s only 1hr and 2min
No - you have to go thru US Customs, collect your luggage and than go thru security again in order to make your connecting domestic flight to CLT
and return in january 13, 2012
Try vision airlines I found a flight out of Louisiana to destin/fort Walton Florida for on 139$. Everywere else was about 1,000$.
I will be going to the IAH airport in Houston, and I know there are great places to eat there. I will have to wait for several hours for my ride. I am wondering if, after I go through Customs and baggage claim, I can still get to the restaurants in the terminals or if I will have to leave the airport. I think probably I won´t be able to access the restaurants in the terminal, but I was wondering if anyone knows for sure.
You can grab something to eat there and be just fine. No worries. I’ve done it many times and all the terminals. It’s all good. You can even catch a shuttle to another terminal if you want to.
As long as you have a boarding pass, it’s all good.
(Have fun).
Which company should I call to get the best shuttle prices
It’s over 80 miles one way, Call on the link here. Best price and no storage of rental car. Cost $30-40 to store a car there at the terminal, other wise the rent car would be a better deal. See if you can fly to Houston Hobbie, the rate will be cheaper or if you don’t have tickets yet, go to florida and not galveston cruise line.
