looking for cheapest flights from houston (hobby airport) to detroit metro airport approx 12/23-1/1/2010?

Cheapest I can find is about $300 round trip, I always hear about real cheap flights like $79 or so but don’t know how to find anything like that. I checked hotwire and expedia and a few others like these. Thanks for any suggestions to help find anything cheaper, I think $300 is kind of cheap but it seems like anymore you can find some for cheaper.

If you can pay $300 round trip, I would book it immediately. The price will only go up. The cheap flights for $79 each way are during non-peak travel seasons. Flying during Christmas time is the most expensive time of the year since airlines know lots of people will pay a high price because they want to go be with family during the holidays.

Is about an hour enough time to catch a connecting flight in Houston?

My wife and I are flying from denver to Mobile and have a connecting flight in Houston. I have never flown before and our layover time is a little over an hour. Do you think that would be plenty of time for us to catch our connecting flight from Houston to Mobile? Thanks!

It will honestly depend on how long line ups are if you need to go through security, and if you need to go to another terminal.

Check out the airport map and find the best route to get from point A to point B. Check with information services or an airport host the minute you get off the plane to find out what exactly you need to do and the best way to get there. If you are running late, they are able to then help you with solutions such as calling the gate or getting you through security a bit faster.

Here is a link to the map and descriptions for each terminal

I personally had no trouble with a 1 hour layover there when I went from Edmonton to Houston to Orlando but things may have changed.

Also don’t forget, usually planes arrive early so you may have extra time.

How many Frequent Flyer Miles are required for a flight from Michigan To Texas, Particularly Houston.?

I’ve been recently looking into Frequent Flyer Miles But I don’t quite understand it, Could someone explain the Frequent Flyer Program and tell me how many miles I would need for a flight from Michigan to Houston Texas?

Which airlines program?

Many of them are changing due to the financial issues the airlines are having.

I belong to American Airlines AAdvantage program. With them, you need 25,000 miles to get a round trip ticket (restricted fare, i.e. the kind that you use or lose based on a specific flight) for anywhere within the continental US that AA flies. If you want a more flexible ticket or to fly first class that will require more miles.

Direct flights from D.C. to Houston?

I will be travelling to Houston, TX from the D.C. area later this year. Which airlines fly direct from either National or Dulles to Intercontinental or Hobby? Which of the two Houston airports is better/easier to fly to? Do you recommend a particular airline over another?

Continental has a large hub at Houston Intercontinental Airport so they have nonstop flights from National or Dulles, as well as from BWI. Continental is a good airline.

United has nonstop flights from Dulles to Houston Intercontinental. But United is a terrible airline.

And if you’re willing to go out of BWI, then Southwest Airlines flies from BWI to Houston Hobby. But Southwest Airlines isn’t so great and often not the cheapest airline either.

USAirways used to have a nonstop from National to Houston Intercontinental but they no longer do.

I’m not sure which airport in Houston is closer to where you’re going but Houston Intercontinental is pretty big, although I’ve been there and it’s a very good airport. Hobby is smaller from what I understand but I’ve never been there.

Also, there might be more airlines that have direct flights but none that have nonstop flights. Direct flights are different than nonstop - direct means that you have to stop in an airport but you don’t change planes.

Why is it STILL so darn HOT In October in Houston, TX? This is stupid.?

I know this is TX & Houston weather in very unpredictable. BUT
What happened to the "Front" were supposed to get that was going to cool down in low 60’s ? What happened?

NO rudeness. I just think is TRIPLE BS I have to run a freaking A/C in OCTOBER! It should be about 65 not 105 5. Last summer I came from Lake Tahoe after working there from May to Oct. 15 & when I stepped out of Bush IAH into the fall evening it was humid but STILL cooler. I want cooler weather NOW. I want to wear PANTS not shorts @ Christmas. It’s SO unfair. It’s FALL & I want to do FALL things outside but NOOOOO.. I am from Amarillo (DRY AIR).. so I am no stranger to crappy weather & but it’s only 77 there right now. .I want it to get cool, but not cold. I’ll check Click2Houston.com but is this pissing any 1 else off?
I’m FROM TX but I am from the panhandle! I am not new to unpredictable weather. This is an El NINO year & last time it was cold winter.
I have lived in TX all 24 years of my life & 12 in Houston. I remember 20’s & 30’s & a few flakes & sleet during the freakin’ winter but i guess that’s a rarity?
I’d be HAPPY to take a vaction. E mail me & I will tell you where to book the reservations & everything else!

I’m grateful it’s been cloudy for the past 2 weeks.
