need the zip code for George Bush International Airport (IAH) in Houston, TX?

I booked a car back in November for my upcoming trip to Houston (Jan 31 - Feb 9). My reservation is confirmed at 290, taxes included, for a 4 door compact vehicle with Thrifty. For the past couple of months, I have been searching rates with the hopes of getting a larger vehicle, but the rates are almost $150 more per rental period, even for the Compact vehicle. Is there some major event going on in Houston during this time period or is there a shortage of rental cars? I’m definitely making sure not to cancel the reservation I currently have now!
I should add that the rate increases that I was seeing occurred about a week after I reserved way back in November, so I don’t think the "Well, you reserved way in advance" answer holds water.
Also, the locations that are not located anywhere near the airport are reflecting roughly the same rates.
rentals cost more when you get them at the airport. Go with enterprise rental. Get a cab from the airport to the nearest enterprise that is a off of their property and your rate will drop quicker. The price may not be so bad, but it’s all the taxes you will pay for renting the vehicle.
I am going to be honest and say that this is a desperate situation. I have very specific needs and will not settle for anything less due to my circumstances. This is what I need.

we are going to london in a few months and they have the cheapest tickets.
Im flying from mexico city airport to Ohare airport with a connection in IAH (houston airport). The connection is only 1 1/2 hours long and I’m scared I wont make it since once you are there you have to go through immigration, claim baggage, go through customs, re-check your baggage and go back through security all in time to find your gate.
So on to my questions.
1) If I miss my connection (for any reason like I didnt run fast enough to catch it or my flight to IAH was delayed) will they put me on the next available flight FOR FREE?
2) I want to try to get an earlier flight. So if there is an earlier flight and i talk to a continental agent will they let me go on the earlier flight if there are seats available for free? I looked online there is one earlier flight that leaves at 10:05 instead of 12:05 and lands in IAH at 1:00 pm which would give me plenty of time.
I hope i dont have to go through security again but you do have to go through baggage claim and pick up ur bags and put them through customs I dont know if i would have to go back through security im hoping not but most likely you have to…
yes same airlines =]
First of all, 1.5 hrs connection should be more than enough time. IMO, your biggest concern will be any flight delays, i.e. yr flight lands late at IAH. Typically, you should be through customs & immigration within 45-mins. The longest wait will be at immigration, where the lines get quite long. You will save a lot of time if you can be ahead of most of your fellow passengers. Your plane will arrive at Terminal E (all Continental int’l flights arrive in this terminal). It is a long walk to the immigration counters, so be prepared for this. Roll-aboard bags will be very beneficial.
Baggage claim normally doesn’t take that much time. In most cases, the bags should be on the carousel by the time you get through immigration. Make sure you know which carousel is being used for your flight. You will find the electronic display for this at the bottom of the escalator from immigration exit. Customs should normally be a breeze. Drop-off your checked baggage with the airline reps. They will be immediately to your right, once you exit customs.
Your flight to Chicago should depart from Terminal B, where all the Continental Express flights are based. I’m not 100% positive but I think you will have to leave the secured area to make the transfer. The "train" link to Terminal B is downstairs. The elevator is the best way to get there. It’s a short ride.
Terminal B is not a huge terminal so the lines for security are not too long. Make sure you know which gate you are departing from. Past security you can either go left or right.
To answer your questions, if you happen to miss your flight you should be able to get on the next available one (assuming there’s room) without any additional charge. You are an international passenger and would have paid a premium for your tickets compared to local travelers. For the same reason, if there are seats in the earlier flight, you should also be able to get on that flight without additional cost.

do you know of any buses that take you, non-stop to
the bush airrport, IAH?
Visitors to Bush Intercontinental Airport have a variety of transfer and transportation options available to them once they arrive in Houston. This includes taxis, private limousines, SuperShuttle shared-ride service, scheduled buses/shuttles, courtesy vans, and even public bus (METRO) transportation. Services can take you to your nearby or downtown hotel or wherever your local travel takes you to in the surrounding area. Shuttle service is even available to the Galveston beach area.
Most shuttle services are available at the south side of Terminals A, B and C and at the west end of D. Check in the terminal for specific locations.

Hi there. I’ve never flown before, and am flying to Texas in September, alone! I was just wondering if anybody could clear a few things up for me.
I’m flying from LGW (London Gatwick) Airport to Austin, connecting in Houston. All of my flights are with Continental airlines, and I was just wondering what I would have to do on the connecting flight? It would be brilliant if anybody had any help for me… Do I have to get my baggage, or will they sort it all?
Since you’re flying with Continental on both legs, you will receive all boarding passes in London; so that part is settled. Also your bags will be checked in directly to Austin, BUT…
You will however pass immigration and customs in Houston. You’ll go thru immigration first (this will likely take 30-45 minutes), then you’ll pick up your luggage and go thru customs (that part is usually very fast as few people are actually stopped). Once you’ve cleared customs, you will find a Continental counter were you will be able to drop your bags. Just drop them on the conveyor, check your gate for your continuing flight to Austin on the monitors and go. No need to talk to anyone there, unless of course you need some assistance…
To Heart’s in the 808: international flights require you to pass immigration and customs at your port of entry in the US, Houston in this case. You need to pick up all your luggage for that.
To Heart’s in the 808: no problem. That’s the reason why we are here
